I'm sitting on the floor of my studio, with my laptop on the couch, where the Cat is dozing within arms reach. The windows are open and I can hear the terns calling over the bay and feel the cool evening breeze on the back of my neck.
I've been working on this new website for many hours today, and in tiny increments over the past few months. Although the archive is still a work-in-progress I've decided to publish it to keep me motivated. I'm taken aback at how many figurines I've made just this year, and it has taken much longer than I ever imagined to upload all of the photos. Happily, the archive for 2016, as of today, is up to date, even though it may still need a bit of organizing.
You may have noticed that aside from my Etsy shop, I barely exist online. This website is my first step in remedying this. But I also have another purpose. I've been making and selling figurines online for six years. It's been my full-time occupation and my sole means of earning a living. Self-employment in a creative medium can be all-consuming, and it has certainly been so for me. I've hardly had a moment to reflect on where I have been, where I am, and what direction I wish to go as a creative soul. My hope is that this site can be a place for reflection and exploring new directions.
